Fremont County, Colorado

The Cotopaxi School District in the County of Fremont, Colorado has a vacant seat on the Board of Education. To be qualified a candidate must have been a registered elector of the school district for at least 12 consecutive months before the election and a resident of the District C. A person is ineligible to run for the school director if he/she has been convicted of committing a sexual offense against a child. A person who desires to be a candidate for school director shall file an affidavit of qualifications and a letter of intent. The former document may be obtained at the Cotopaxi School Office. Please submit both documents to the superintendent prior to February 7th.

To check if you are a qualified candidate in District C, please contact the Cotopaxi School Office. A Master Chart is available in the school administration office for viewing by interested persons between the hours of 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM, Monday through Thursday.


District C is defined as: 

Beginning at the most easterly corner of the Director District B at the intersection of the Arkansas River and Hayden Creek Road, thence easterly along the flow of the Arkansas River to the point of intersection with Highway 69 ( extended north to the Arkansas River), thence south along Highway 69 to a point of intersection with Road Gulch Road, thence east along Road Gulch Road to a point of intersection with Boyd Road (CR 13X), thence south along Boyd Road (CR13X) to a point of intersection with CR 12X, thence southwesterly along CR 12X to a point of intersection with CR l0X, thence south to a point of intersection with Reed Road 
(CR29), thence southwesterly along Reed Road (CR 29) to a point of intersection with the southern boundary of Fremont RE-3 District (Fremont/ Custer County line), thence west to a point of intersection. with Hayden Creek Road, thence northeasterly along Hayden Creek Road to a point of intersection with Hayden Creek Road to the point of intersection with the Arkansas River, the point of beginning.
