Dear Cotopaxi Community,

What a wonderful week of pirate activities we had! On Monday we had our school-wide monthly Paxi P.R.I.D.E. assembly led by our staff members: Chloe Masseria, Ryan Christensen, Sarah Adams, and Laura Reed.  The focus was on respect.  Students played respect Jeopardy, and it was great to see all grade-levels working collaboratively on discussing what respect looks and sounds like at school, home, and in other areas as well.  Students and staff also had the opportunity to earn some prizes in celebration of our Paxi P.R.I.D.E.  Our next assembly we will be celebrating integrity

Our student council led a fun and spirited pep rally on Thursday!  Teachers and students played some fun basketball games, and we all had the opportunity to cheer on and support the boy’s moving on to regionals in Fort Collins on Friday.  Thank you community for always coming out to support our student-athletes at games.  Shout out to our Cotopaxi boy’s basketball alumni for your support at the pep rally as well.  Such a special moment that we will all cherish.  Congratulations goes out to our boy’s basketball team for a wonderful season!

Our industrial arts teacher, Justin Payne is kicking off Spring with some upcoming projects in his classes.  We are always accepting supply donations such as wood, plywood, paint, screws, bolts, nuts, nails etc.  If you’d like to donate any supplies to our Industrial Arts program please send an email to jpayne@cotopaxire3.org.  If you’d like to make a monetary donation please reach out to Natasha Davis, ndavis@cotopaxire3.org for more information on how to do so.

Looking ahead, this Tuesday secondary students will have an opportunity to attend a teen driving safety assembly, and baseball games begin this week.  Also, parent-teacher conferences are March 10th, from 8-4pm. We look forward to seeing you this week.

Yours in education,

Jennifer Gonzales
