Dear Cotopaxi Community,
I hope you enjoyed the beautiful weekend! We had a busy week leading up to CMAS (Colorado Measures of Academic Success). Our juniors completed CMAS Science on April 11th, and this upcoming week we will continue with state testing with third-11th grade students testing over the next two weeks. 6th-8th grade will take the ELA/MATH assessments April 10th-12th. 5th grade students will test in Science 4/10-4/12. High school 9th-11th grades will take the SAT/PSAT/PSAT 8-9 assessments on Wednesday and Thursday this week (Juniors 4/12, sophomores 4/13, and freshmen 4/13). 3rd-5th grade students will test on ELA/MATH from April 18th-20th. 8th grade students will test on Science April 18th-20th. We encourage all students to get a good night's rest, eat breakfast, and be on time for school on test days. A friendly reminder that students are not allowed to have electronic devices in their testing rooms, including break times. If you have any questions, feel free to contact us.

I’d like to thank Lion’s Club for organizing a fantastic Easter Egg Hunt for our community! Egg hunting, prizes, and yummy goodies for all to enjoy! Lion’s club will be hosting an Italian dinner with door prizes and a silent auction on April 29th, 5-7 p.m. at the Cotopaxi School Cafeteria, please come out and join us! Meals will be $12 per person. See you there.
This Tuesday, come out and watch Cotopaxi vs. Elbert baseball at 4 PM and/or high school Track @ Centauri! We also have middle school Track @ Canon City @ 4p.m. on Wednesday, a middle school baseball double header on Friday vs. Buena Vista @ 11 a.m., high school baseball @ ECA 11 a.m. on Saturday and high school Track @ Del Norte on Saturday as well. Go Pirates! Please remember to check our school website for any updates on game times/dates/locations.
