Staying "Pirate Strong" Against COVID-19

Please read the following letter from our School Nurse, Debbie Eggleston:

COVID-19 remains a part of daily life as we maneuver through these unprecedented times. As we approach the end of the school year we have been so fortunate to remain in school for the most part, with only having to quarantine limited students, teachers, and staff for short periods of time.

The county is currently seeing an increase in positive cases which in turn affects our school community. Please be assured that if you have not been directly contacted by the school nurse or school administration, you are not within the close contact exposure criteria and normal routines can be followed with no special actions needed. If at anytime you have questions or concerns please contact myself, Mr. Eckelberry or Mrs. Van Esselstine.

Please know that each COVID-19 related issue continues to be handled utilizing the most current guidelines from the CDC, CDPHE and Fremont Public Health. Rapid COVID-19 testing is now available and being utilized by the school nurse for students, parents, employees and community members associated with the school. There are specific guidelines used for testing and are reviewed on a case to case basis. Results are reported to the Colorado Health Department as mandated by law in a confidential manner.

Our goal is finish this school year strong! Here at the Cotopaxi school we will continue to practice our layers of protection – daily health screenings, proper hand hygiene, socially distancing and wearing face coverings. We are so proud of our students, teachers, staff and community for their part in keeping everyone safe during this pandemic. Finish strong Pirate Family – we can do it!!
